He knew who she was.

He had heard her name whispered among the crowds. "This Hawke woman had done this," one whispered. "This Hawke woman had done that," another hushed. He was unconvinced, yet curious.

But how could he trust what the citizens were gossiping these days? It's no different than all the stories from those who "claimed" they ran into darkspawn, and survived. He didn't believe in such tall tales... and he would know of tall tales.
But this Hawke he kept hearing whispers about... His contacts said that she and her sister had survive an encounter with an ogre. An ogre! He would've laughed at such a preposterous thing, had he not heard of her deeds upon arriving to Kirkwall - the talk of her aiding the smugglers and gaining access to the city - for a price:

Servitude.

To pay the very debt that gained her and her family access into the "city of chains." Perhaps she really is just the thing he was looking for. Her skills with her bow was unmatched to any bowman he ever knew, though he would like to claim he's better.
But they needed a partner, not more muscle. And she needed to make a name for herself. Still, he wasn't entirely convinced...

Not yet, of course. He would have to see for himself just how capable this Hawke really was...
Felt like sharing this. I was working on it today, with the first lines literally being the first things I thought of. I just love Dragon Age, but I have not done anything for it (is there something wrong with me? :ohnoes:), and so... I decided to upload this dabble.
And it's literally a dabble, which - if people like it enough - will grow into something more than this. :)

Also, I love critiques~. :meow:
